Redbud tree in full bloom[edit]

Redbud tree in full bloom

I took this picture last spring on campus at Washington University in St. Louis. I think it's a beautiful example of redbud blooms. It's on the redbud tree page.

  • Support. I like the colors and composition, but is it me or is it out of focus? -- [[User:Solitude|Solitude\talk]] 08:49, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)
    • I did a little bit of sharpening. The original image is 1600x1200 and I forgot to run a sharpen filter after I resized it. Thanks. - B

  • Oppose. Pretty, but not particularly striking. --ScottyBoy900Q 03:54, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Oppose - First of all, a picture of a plant must be determined correctly: This one is not a redbud tree but probably some species of Prunus. To compare how flowers of Cercis really look like see Image:Cercis siliquastrum3.jpg --Franz Xaver 14:45, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Waiting - I would support it, if it was determined correctly.- thomas g graf ~ talk
    • I've taken your comments into consideration and I am attempting to verify the proper classification of the plant. Prunus hortulana (hortulan plum) [1] seems to be the best fit: according to the Prunus article, it is distributed in the Missouri/Illinois area. --Barfooz
    • Further comment: MPF says it's a cherry tree. That was what I originally believed it to be. Verifying... --Barfooz
