I know that the JW are boys-only in the Barks-Rosa version, but other stories have shown the JW to have girls among their regular members, an example of that is H 84099. 13:57, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

In DuckTales, I remember Webby being part of the JW.

I suppose if we are pushing to 1.0, we are probably aspiring to make Wikipedia something as useful as the Junior Woodchucks Guidebook. Perhaps we should rename it to that, for cheap publicity, as Disney's notoriously mean spirited lawyers come after us. Certainly the real Junior Woodchucks will then ride to our rescue!! On camels no doubt, and out of the Rub-al-Khali!

Well if Wikipedia becomes the new Junior Woodchuck manual, (and it's getting that way), this is one little black duck that's not going to carry it around with him!

Something that is not mentioned in article or talk, is the humorous allusion to Freemasonry implicit in the Manual, including its many orders and quasi-mystical background. It's like a cross between the Boy Scouts and the Masons. I wonder if the author ever said anything about it. Because as it stands, the JW manual is a nice piece of satire on every secret society with the "answers to everything" in their little black book. Boy Scouts of America[edit]

I'm not a boy scouts expert, but I was wondering if the reference to the Boy Scouts of America is necessary. The Junior Woodchucks seem to me like any boy scouts organization (e.g. the German ones). Are there elements in The Junior Woodchucks that are modelled on American Boy Scouts characteristics which can't be found in other boy scouts organizations? --Martin de la Iglesia (talk) 14:45, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
