Background[edit]

The events described in this section start taking place in "early summer 1423" with the assembling of an army by the French which later besieged Cravant. Then the Cravant garrison seeks help from the "Dowager-Duchess of Burgundy". The corresponding link points to Margaret of Bavaria - but according to her Wikipedia-article she died on January 23rd 1423, well before these events were set in motion. So it must have been someone else the city's garrison asked for help or am i missing something? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.242.64.204 (talk) 07:05, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Very interesting question. The statement is in the cited source and also in the other book used for this article. Further research traces it to the work of the historian Jean de Waurin, a participant in the battle. The death date of Margaret of Bavaria appears to be correct, however. There was no Duchess of Burgundy at the time of the battle, Michelle of Valois having died the previous year.Monstrelet (talk) 13:12, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The link that was taken off the bottom the this article was taken off because it linked to a map of the Battle of Cravant during the Franco-Prussian war of 1870 and not the battle of Cravant that took place sometime in the 1400's Simeon M. Smith
