Why is he third?[edit]

it says right at the beginning the third singer but he was the first. there were three maiden singers. paul, bruce, someone, then back to bruce.

He wasn't the first, just the first to record with Maiden. He was preceded by Paul Day and the infamous Dennis Wilcock. The guy you so politely left out was Blaze Bayley who is an excellent singer by the way.
The poster above is right, but I thought it was worthwhile mentioning that he was the first vocalist to record with Maiden, so I changed the first paragraph. -- Hux 18:11, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]


he is third because he was third! Paul Mario Day was the very first Maiden vocalist. He was replaced by Dennis Wilcocks who was in turn replaced by Di'anno!

Manslaughter[edit]

does anyone know why he was convicted of manslaughter? obviously because he killed someone but does anyone know the circumstances?

I'm pretty sure it was drug related.


Firearms, drugs & spousal abuse was what ehw as convicted for in Los Angeles.

Islam? What the hell?[edit]

This sounded too weird, so I googled a bit, and found this interview [1] in which he denies it; but also this [2] in which he confirms it; and this [3] in which he stays in a bizarre middle of the road.

Since that first interview is the most recent one, I think the correct info is: he is NOT a Muslim - at least not anymore. - Stormwatch 03:55, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Islam[edit]

He seems to denying his religious belief because he wants to save face. Listen to what he said: "I turned to Islam 15 years ago. My ex-wife was a Muslim, and she said to me, 'Don’t say anything, just read this,' and I read the Qur’an and some other literature.
I had always believed in God, but because you say that you are a Muslim, people in the West think that you are running around with a machine gun. Most Muslims are very peaceful people. I have always believed that if you believe in God and you get down on your knees to pray to God, then you should pray directly to God, you don’t have to go around the ‘Holy Mother’ and everybody else to get there. It just made more sense to me. I also cut out doing drugs. I firmly believe that God has kept on letting me do what I am doing because he thinks that I am finally writing about issues that matter.
I may be kidding myself, but that is what I believe."
Then in the Norway article he says "I said [mumbles]. I said; if I was gonna follow a religion, I wouldn’t be like the cityfuckers in England or, you know, here, who goes to church once a week. If you’re gonna do something for God, then you do it properly, yeah?" which is almost an exact quote of the Egypt article.
Then he changes his story: "No, it’s what I say, yeah? All I said is: If you are going to be religious, you should be a commited person – you know? Five times a day praying, oh fuck that, man I’m... not for me. I think religion kills everybody. I don’t believe in it. I admire the people who do this kind of thing, I don’t have that love of a god, I mean, I don’t believe in God. No, my father was a muslim, I must admit."
Then he tries to discredit the author of the Egytian article: "Because I was talking about my best friend, Attila, and they said he’s dead? He’s not! I said it was his dad. His dad died. MUSLIM DIANNO[edit]

I have read two interviews of paul dianno in both of which he cleary states that he is a muslim, one which is linked on this site above and another which i found when i waS searching around for the truth behind this arguement. read these interviews and you will see that Dianno has obviouly converted to Islam. Nuf Said

EPs with Iron Maiden[edit]

Singing Style[edit]

Okay, I've been promoting a Singing Style section as a part of articles which deal with Heavy Metal frontmen and for some reason people don't like these. Why? With every guitarist, drummer, bass player, keyboardist etc. there is usually a mention of their influences and style. A singer is no different. His instrument is his voice. If someone feels this info doesn't warrant a section of its own, fine, but don't remove the info but instead move it to a place where it is more at home. If I'm looking for info on singers, naturally I wanna know what their style of performance is. -TheHande 20:37, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Real surname?[edit]

Punk career[edit]

His Punk career should also be mentioned. As far I could research, he was a member of a punk band called The Paedophiles, (possibly other bands too). Is there any Information about them ? Ok, record contracts aren't really "Punk" but, they probably release a casette or played some gigs. In an Interview he also said, that he didn't like Heavy metal in the first place, and considered to go home, when he appeared with his mohawk and Iron Maiden wanted him to sing covers of the Deep Purple. -- 79.225.113.106 (talk) 18:02, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
