This article is written in American English, which has its own spelling conventions (color, defense, traveled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Anyone notice this??[edit]

Here's an interesting thing about Wikipedia's color sequence:

Red-Scarlet-Vermillon-Orange-Amber-Tangerine-Gold-Yellow-Lime-Chartreuse-Green-Spring_green-Cyan-Azure-Blue-Persian_blue-Violet

The colors in the range from scarlet to gold look sort-of-orange when I view the screen with my eyes on the bottom of the computer, but sort-of-yellow-green when my eyes are towards the top, and the exact opposite is true of lime. Georgia guy 23:16, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Some LCD flat screen monitors display the effect of apparent color change depending on viewing angle, with viewing it from higher or lower angles most strongly effecting those changes. CRT monitors generally never have that problem. If you really want to see a full blooming of that problem, tilt your LCD viewing of an RGB gamut map, like one here [1] or one there [2]. Multiple "Lime" pages[edit]

Some of the (current) items listed in the section "Lime in human culture" seem more appropriate for one or more of the other "Lime" pages; for example, the item on "Limey" is a reference to Lime (fruit) rather than Lime (color). 206.205.52.162 (talk) 15:35, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lemon Lime[edit]

The section states that this is a color named after certain carbonated soft drinks. The text in the section contains no references. The color coordinates template has a place for a source but that field doesn't have a proper reference, simply the word "Sprite".

Searching for Sprite leads one to one possible website: Sprite. That site does make reference to "lemon-lime", but in context it is clearly a reference to a flavor not a color. That particular website gives no hint that there is a color by this name and certainly not any information on the color attributes.

I don't plan to edit this article as my current focus is on the color lists articles (e.g. List_of_colors:_A–F). I do plan to remove this entry from that list, but if someone does some research and can can find evidence that there is a color by this name, it can be restored.--S Philbrick (Talk) 17:30, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
