This article need not deal with the genealogical details of the counts. It is just a brief stub. Wetman 04:20, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I recommend that this article and article title be deleted from Wikipedia. The contents are redundant information that can be found elsewhere in Wikipedia, including articles entitled: House of Savoy and Duchy of Savoy. The Italian names for the rulers are especially pointless because they are not used in histories written in English (and they spoke French, not Italian). (If necessary, this article could be redirected to House of Savoy Charvex 08:43, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Duchy of Savoy only covers the area from 1416 forward. This article refers to an earlier period of the political entity. I would no more merge this with the duchy article than I would merge the Republic of Rome article with the Roman Empire article. I therefore respectfully disagree. LTC (Ret.) David J.
