Addition[edit]

Just added to the article:

Several of these missiles were fired by Iraq at advancing US forces and into Kuwait, although they produced few casualties. Some reports erroneously referred to the Al-Samoud missiles that hit Kuwait as "Scuds," due to the frequent use of those during the Gulf War.

The sources I've been able to dig up ([1], [2], [3]) are all much more noncomittal about exactly what types of missile were fired at Kuwait, mentioning Al Samoud 2 as just one possibility among several. this one appears to be the most recent and complete source and only lists Al Samoud missiles, not the longer-ranged second version. Does anyone know of a more solid source for Al-Samoud 2 usage in the war? Lacking that I'll add these uncertainties to the article. Bryan 03:38, 31 Jul 2004 (UTC)

B-class[edit]

More ciations are needed, at least one in each section, before I can admit this article as a B-class. Looks good though, keep up the good work. TomStar81 (Talk) 19:37, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Better later than never; section now reasonably cited.--Darius (talk) 01:18, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Al-Samoud 2 as WMD[edit]

I took the liberty of removing the claim about Al-Samoud 2's range of 180 km as being:

'a threshold at which the missile crosses into being known as a weapon of mass destruction'

This claim was not made by the source, and the range of Al-Samoud 2, in my oppion, does not bear on its potential as a WMD without the addition of a more important factor: The crucial issue is rather the type of warhead it might have carried. The range is a somewhat arbitrary limitation set to limit the ability to propel any remaining WMDs, not an indication of a missile being a WMD in and of itself.
