Provinces[edit]

Hello, According to the new Capodistrias law there are no provinces in Greece any more.I would recommend to delete the sentence "Trikala has to provinces". Primus Inter Pares 23:17, 12 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Trikala vs. Trikkala [sic][edit]

What's the authoritative (or preferred?) transliteration of this name, for use when writing in English? I've encountered the latter spelling (e.g. on Expedia maps), and need to know on what grounds to change my text if appropriate. -- Thanks, Deborahjay 13:36, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The city's official site uses Trikala, which is also by far the more common transliteration. --Delirium 21:51, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative names on Infobox[edit]

@Super Dromaeosaurus:, while your recent additions [1] are welcome, I would ask that any alternative names are left out of the info-boxes. There is no problem if the alternative names are mentioned on lead, but the info-boxes are carefully using just the official and international English names, regardless of what ethnic groups may live/have lived in these cities. Good day. --- SilentResident (talk ✉ | contribs ✎) 22:18, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, no problem. Looking back at some of the edits I've made on Greek cities, I may have exceeded myself regarding Aromanian names. Super Ψ Dro 20:42, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
