I have to commend the poster on their ambition, but this article is impossible. RickK 07:10, Oct 28, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Something for the categorisation system. — David Remahl 07:16, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. What exactly makes a material "commonly known", anyway? -- Ferkelparade π 07:18, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
    • ...or a "material" for that matter? Delete. Cool Hand Luke 07:38, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
      • "Materials are inputs to production or manufacturing. They are often raw - that is unprocessed, but are sometimes processed before being used in more advanced production processes.", at least according to Materials and Category:Materials. — David Remahl 07:46, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
        • Quilt? Snow? I dont understand their apparently eclectic definition. Cool Hand Luke 08:01, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
          • I didn't say this article adheres to that definition. :-) — David Remahl 08:11, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Seems to be related to List of Lists useful for AI -- Chris 73 Talk 09:10, Oct 28, 2004 (UTC)
  • keep; but limit to the specific subset of Category:Materials that _are_ well known. Posiduck 12:07, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
    • Please define that. It is inherently POV. Well-known by whom? By chemists? By chefs? By a general cross-section of the world's population? — David Remahl 12:31, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
    • And even if you _can_ define it, why not create Category:Well-known materials in that case? — David Remahl 12:32, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Merge into Category:Materials, title is POV. Gazpacho 13:27, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Topic is vague. --Improv 18:09, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, and delete all non-commonly known materials, they are non-notable. Trollminator 00:14, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)
    • Hehe. Even though I am a (moderate) deletionist, I find your humour, aimed at us, quite funny. :) Kudos to you. --Improv 20:29, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Weak keep, at least have something of this effect in the enyclopedia. siroχo 08:47, Oct 29, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, following David Remahl. — Bill 22:12, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)
