Invitation[edit]

Hello! As there is a Wikipedia article about you, you are cordially invited to contribute a short audio recoding of your spoken voice, so that our readers may know what you sound like and how you pronounce your name. Details of how to do so, and examples, are at Wikipedia:Voice intro project. Please feel free to ask for help or clarification on the project talk page, or my talk page. A barnstar for you![edit]

The Citation Barnstar
Dear Tim,
You have done a magnificent job in sorting out the mess that was the citations at the T. E. Lawrence article. The new structure you have applied looks excellent, as we had agreed to align it to the format normally used for featured articles. So, very well done, Tim!
[Is this the dawn of a new career for you here at the Wiki, I ask myself? ]
On a personal note, I have enjoyed working with you on this. So, thank you once again for your enthusiastic commitment to this very useful task, and for all your contributions to our encyclopaedia.
With kind regards
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(guestbook) 08:38, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Thank you also for signing my guestbook, and for the nice photo of Aberystwyth!

What is a woman?[edit]

Hey Tim, just noting that I reverted your edit because it seemed to be WP:OR. There might be some sources out there discussing that, but I don't have the capacity to handle researching anything surrounding this topic anytime soon. There is some discussion on the talk page you may not have seen that might be useful :)/. ThadeusOfNazereth(he/they)Talk to Me! 20:48, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I can see the point, but I looked and thought "those citations are kind of lousy, they're all from people who had made up their mind before they even saw it, I wonder what the mainstream said?" And I discovered that the mainstream totally ignored the film. Now there's a quote immediately above saying something like that from a culture warrior at National Review so maybe that's good enough.
Here's the real problem: That section is has the standard title "Critical reception" but in this case the title is wrong, it's pretty well just "Ideological reception".
I might be prepared to argue that the *absence* of coverage from reliable sources ought to be cite-able - it's easily checked, just like a high-quality reliable-source cite. Anyhow, no feelings hurt. Tim Bray (talk) 21:02, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
