Vandalism[edit]

This is odd... Why is a page like this so often vandalized? There must be a whole bunch of nitwits out there with really strong resentments against clouds. Trigaranus (talk) 14:39, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering that myself. It isn't the kind of topic that should draw anyone's attention or ire. Nothing in here is controversial in any way. Somebody just vandalized the cloud info box source as well. I caught it and fixed it though.PiccoloNamek (talk) 14:46, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Get it: kids who have to check for their Geography classes...! Trigaranus (talk) 00:31, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is wrong with clouds? I love clouds! I'm glad it is fixed! Savetrees3 (talk) 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Image[edit]

Is File:Stratus-Opacus-Uniformis.jpg really a Stratus cloud? Looks more like Nimbostratus. --The High Fin Sperm Whale (talk) 16:56, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The difference by definition would be that nimbostratus produces rainfall. That does not seem to be the case in the given picture. Trigaranus (talk) 22:19, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But it seems to fade into gray, so maybe the more distant clouds are nimbostratus? --The High Fin Sperm Whale (talk) 01:11, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I was there, and I can indeed say that the clouds were definitely SOU clouds. The reason the edges are dark is the because the picture was taken in the dead of winter, and the sun was low in the sky and not too far from the top of the frame, making it appear brighter than the clouds in the distance. But when you actually looked at it, the whole sky was actually covered in the same type of cloud.PiccoloNamek (talk)
