Question: I don't believe that the information removed was subjective; it's a fact that many people hold the removed opinion. The statement of such is not, in itself, an opinion. Is there a guideline to clarify this? Clockwork Troll 22:32, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I agree; changed the information a bit, hoping it seems less subjective now. After all, I could have said that the residents of Randolph County weren't keen on having a mountain of trash next door. (j/k). Rhymeless 03:52, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)

A majority of county residents do not oppose the landfill expansion.

The landfill is the ONLY landfill in the county, not one of the largest.

Using wikipedia to discuss one of many local issues is silly. There are other issues that should be mentioned before the landfill expansion.

1) The proposed CAFO could have similar effect while bringing less cash to the county.

2) Shutting down of UCBC will eliminate 150 jobs.

3) Government growth. Though our population remains the same size after 100 years, our sheriff's department is 60 times bigger.

4) Unemployment. We have the worst unemployment in the state. Everyday 4930 people drive out of the county to go to work (27.6% of the workforce), which I would guess has to do with lack of jobs in the county. (notice the indication that this is an opinion)

5) Education. Only 9% of our residents have a college education, while the state average is 19%.

Yet, you have decided that the landfill expansion issue should hold the number one spot and be painted in a negative light in an international forum. How many people does the landfill employ? How much tax and tipping fees are collected at the landfill? Where will we send our trash when we close the landfill? Why are these questions not addressed in what is supposedly an objective enclopedia entry?

You point out that county is 9% college educated versus state average of 19%. Actually, the federal average is 24.4%, so it appears that Lee L. Driver was more interested in saving mpney for taxpayers than in giving kids a good start. Former Monroe Central coach Trent Fine just resigned at Huntington North High School after being stopped for going 86 MPH while having an blood alcohol level 50% higher than "drunk".
