Untitled[edit]

It is Wikipedia policy that party articles should have English titles. When I get time I will move all these articles to English names. Adam 05:36, 18 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I suppose that is the policy I meant. In an English-language encyclopaedia the "common name" for a Polish political party will always be the English name. Adam 06:59, 18 Jun 2004 (UTC)

LPR certainly isn't a right wing party, just look at their program to see that beneath a shallow façde of social conservatism they're classical socialists, hoping to create a wellfare state.

Right-wing and left-wing labels are not absolute and difficult to define. LPR considers themselves to be right-wing, and LPR MPs seat on the right-wing part of Polish Parliament. I think the problem is there are hundreds of parties who think we are the true right-wingers and everybidy alse is left-wing, even is they pretend not to be. That's why in the earlier version only the mainstream parties that fit can be nicely classified in Left-Right politics were stated as such. There is no reasonable doubt that the post-communists are left-wing and Platforma Obywatelska or Prawo i Sprawiedliwosc are right-wing, but trying to squeeze Liga Polskich Rodzin into one of those catagorise is intrinsically POV.

It's very doubtfull to clasify Platforma as a rightist party, especially after defection of Maciej Plazynski, PO is a typical centrist party, 3/4 of PO members are former UW members, clasifying themselves as centrist PolishPoliticians 09:39, 4 Jul 2004 (UTC)

And yet, it's PO that openly talks about the need for a quick liberalization of the economy, whilst the allegedly righter PiS speaks about doing it in a socialy conscious manner. I think we should just indicate where they lie in the poltical spectrum, characterize them in a few words and place the more detailed analyses in the articles about the specific parties.

PiS[edit]

PiS is not a filo-europian party. It's eruosceptic. It's member of Europen Union of Nations a European Coalition of Eurosceptic Parties.

PiS has a important group of Eurosceptics. Another point: Radio Maryja it's a europhobic radio station.

  • Prawo i Sprawiedliwość isn't an euroenthusiatic party.
On a related note, the labels "Euro-phile" or even "Euro-enthusiastic" are extremely dubious. There has never been a party that was truly "enthusiastic" about Polish EU membership, with the possible exception of the Freedom Union. Samoobrona RP[edit]

Sammobroma is an agrarian party, but it isn't a leftist party. It supports a polish right govern.

Sammobroma isn't in the left or the right. Some Sammobroma positions are from the right and some are from the left.

Right of the Polish Republic (Prawica Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, Prawica RP)[edit]

Translated to English:

  1. Restoring the continuity of the constitution of the Republic of Poland - by restoring the Constitution of April 23, 1935.
  2. Reform of Electoral Regulations - single-mandate electoral districts.
  3. Separation of Legislative and Executive - MEPs (no matter, lower or upper house) cannot hold government positions.
  4. The reform of the Polish judiciary - the position of a judge should be the culmination of a legal and life career - the introduction of an age limit, e.g. 50 years old.
  5. Justice reform - verification and rotation of officials.
  6. Solving the problem of usury in the Polish financial system - e.g. franchises, loan collateral, mortgage.
  7. Health care reform - money for the patient.
  8. Social insurance system reform - a common lower fees.
  9. Tax system reform - universal flat tax e.g. 10%.
  10. Simplification of business rules.
  11. Restoring the proper meaning of traffic rules - improving road safety.

Why cannnot I use the logo of Law and Justice in this page though it's used in the Law and Justice page?

Suspected wrong placement of parties[edit]

Hello. When I checked the article for "far left" it said, that most classifications only include the most left-wing forms of communism and said that stalinism isn't usually considered one of them. Shouldn't therefore the Communist Party Of Poland and Social Justice Movement be moved to the "left wing" category? Szymon Sokoliński (talk) 17:10, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
