Unnecessary. Can use Category:Canada-related stubs --Spinboy 06:07, 20 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • Merge to Category:Canada-related stubs. A guideline that was discussed and pretty much accpeted over on the Stub-related Talk pages is that if a geographical subdivision does not have a WikiProject associated with it, then there's a higher hurdle for establishing a stub category for that subdivision than would otherwise apply. This came up in the context of US state stubs. By the same reasoning, I wouldn't recommend keeping this category. Courtland 14:07, 2005 Feb 21 (UTC)
  • I think Quebec is significantly different enough to merit it's own stubs, because of it's different civil laws, language, and the push to secede from Canada. (NOTE: because of Louisiana's different civil laws, it too should have a separate set of stubs.) On that note... Nunavut (Canada) should have a separate set of stubs, because it is the only major jurisdiction in North America where an aboriginal language is dominant. 132.205.45.148 19:45, 23 Feb 2005 (UTC)
    • significant difference isn't an important criterion - not compared to number of articles - when talking of stub-sorting. All Middle East geographical stubs are in the same category, despite the differences between israel, Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain, etc. There are simply not enough stubs for separate stub categories to be a sensible editorial tool - which is their purpose, after all. The general consensus at the stub sorting WikiProject is at least 40 and preferably 100 stubs per category: Quebec-stub has 20; Quebec-bio has less than 20; Nunavut would have about 10. Furthermore, as Courtland hinted above, the active WikiProject which is most closely associated with Quebecois articles is the Canadian one. Grutness|hello? 02:19, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Keep - merge Quebec-bio stub with it, and I am sure this cat will prove useful. zoney talk 12:02, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • KeepSurely there are some people who will be more likely to look at Quebec stubs than Canada stubs. Quebec is a large place with a very distinct identity. Wincoote 08:39, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Keep, it's a useful distinction. -- Curps 09:02, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)
