Whoever wrote the synopsis for this album clearly was not aware of the two Sugar Ray albums that preceded this. They said that "New Direction" was a heavy metal track atypical of Sugar Ray. No, Sugar Ray were, up until this album, strictly a hard rock band. This track is VERY typical of Sugar Ray up until this point. An objective reviewer would have pointed out that the REST of the album is in fact atypical of Sugar Ray, but would come to be the style they were known for and pursued from this point on. "Fly" was the only song on the last album that wasn't hard rock, and since it became a hit, Sugar Ray toned down their style to suit a more pop-rock radio audience.

That writeup's pretty embarrassingly journalistic. I tagged it for cleanup ages ago...guess I should just do it myself, one of these days...Chubbles 06:23, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The "atypical" bit was changed to "typical." Except for the two sentences that need citations (which can probably be deleted altogether), I think the article is pretty cleaned up. ChagrinRiddle 19:11, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
