SkaDaddyZ[edit]

This page was originally marked as a copyvio. The author then ran the original article through the "Jive" filter, rendering into simultaneously a copyvio and utter gibberish. --jpgordon {gab} 01:12, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • I thought to rewrite the page. However, I checked allmusic, Amazon and Ultimate Band List. UBL had an entry on them ([1]); Allmusic and Amazon had nothing, however. Moreover, the UBL entry suggests that this article was inaccurate in many details, and provides no evidence that they're notable--a Google search was unable to verify if they actually appeared with Save Ferris or the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I say delete unless someone more knowledgeable than me can verify this. [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 01:26, Oct 15, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep; the SkaDaddyZ was one of the most popular bands on the former mp3.com before the aforementioned site was shut down and redesigned. Since then, the band seems to have fallen into obscurity, as it seems that most of its revenues (from CD sales and paid downloads) and fanbase was centered around the site in its former incarnation. The "Hotel California" cover, despite threats of a lawsuit, enjoyed many hours of radio playtime, both on mp3.com stations and conventional analog stations across the United States. The song received several awards and was featured on mp3.com's Best Of Mp3.com CD from 1999. Additionally, the band appeared with both Save Ferris and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, in 1996 and 1998, respectively.
  • Keep, they were actually quite popular for a time. Article needs some fact-checking and expansion, not deletion. -- Ferkelparade π 10:03, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Googling them gives some notable results. The articles needs some re-editing. utcursch 11:53, Oct 15, 2004 (UTC)
  • Abstain for now. But I propose the gibberish version as a BJAODN candidate! - Mike Rosoft 12:17, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • This should have been rewritten on a temp page so the copyvio could be removed completely. -- Cyrius| 14:39, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)
