Hi Alex, I have a question concerning the photo of a mbira in a calebash that you posted here 3 years ago. Please let me know if my question reaches you in this way. Best Klarinetten-Piel (talk) 10:42, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I noticed your work at Shona music. Looks great, and I see you've been working on mbira as well! I just wanted to let you know what I decapitalized a bunch of things in Shona music because they weren't proper nouns, and I also made some changes to the section headers. If you haven't seen it yet, you may be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject_World_music, which is marked as inactive but has some new rumblings on the talk page. Thanks for your work, and let me know if you have any questions. Tuf-Kat 05:19, 13 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I'm planning on adding content to other Zimbabwean and Shona music-related articles as well, and try to get some people I know who also know about those subjects to contribute. I'll also look at the World Music project page, also, thanks again. Alex Weeks 05:26, 13 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mbira players and keyboardist-stubs[edit]

In my opinion there isn't a more appropriate stub available at this time for mbira players. It does use a keyboard, even if it isn't the 88 keys of a piano. If we had a percussionist-stub (and we may have one soon, as it has been proposed) there would be a strong argument to use that stub instead, but it doesn't exist yet. Since you seem to be the primary person working on articles about mbira players right now, I'll defer to you as to which stub would be preferable if you have a preference. Mbira & religious belief[edit]

I agree with your comments on the mbira talk page. Things that are religious belief do not belong in the encyclopedia. Those things are not verifiable via written documentation. Dogru144 16:40, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The goal of WikiProject World music is to improve the quality and quantity of information about World music available on Wikipedia. WP:WikiProject World music as a group does not prefer any particular type of World music, but prefers that all World music traditions are fairly and accurately represented.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cosmas magaya.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cosmas magaya.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:54, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A bowl of strawberries for you![edit]

Hey Alex, it's Coby. Just found you on here randomly while looking for some copyleft pictures of African stuff. Keep up the good work, and I hope we get to connect at Zimfest! Acobster (talk) 02:29, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
