Thomas Young[edit]

added as a notable resident since he also named Amenia. Not as well knwon a Revoutionary patriot, he also named Vermont. A leader of and the only Boston Tea Partier not dressed as an Indian, and mentor to Ethan Allen, Thomas Paine and others. Isn't it the same as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amenia_%28CDP%29%2C_New_York

Nope. The CDP is within the town, but does not cover its entirety. See Political subdivisions of New York State#Census-designated place. Nelson Ricardo 02:51, Oct 15, 2004 (UTC)

Geography & Demographics[edit]

There is a huge discrepancy between the numbers in these two areas and what is shown in the box. The numbers in the box are probably wrong, but I cannot confirm that to be true. Please verify what is the correct statistical information concerning size of land area and the population, then make changes to the page to show the correct numbers in both the box and the two areas.

Notable people section[edit]

I removed Jacob R. Evertson from this section because he does not have his own Wikipedia article which is required to establish notability per Wikipedia guidelines. The information I removed is: Jacob R. Evertson (1734–1807), delegate to the Second New York Provincial Congress 1774-1775 and Deputy 1776, and father in law of John Cotton Smith, the First Governor of Connecticut.
