[Untitled][edit]

The church is currently open, admission 10/15 TL. The site is accessed from Esentepe and is signposted, mainly good road, the last 2km a little worse but drivable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.182.75.165 (talk) 07:57, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Adding information[edit]

Information added from publications available, plus a few photos from the 1970s that have come to my hands. I hope this helps. The "page view" statistics are very poor, but perhaps there can be some interest now. The monument is under the protection of the archaeological department in northern Cyprus, kept locked at the time of my visit, with tickets issued if the attendant is present. Further information of the present and evolving situation might be added in a separate section. --Shirazibustan (talk) 14:40, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

It would be great if someone could add something of the history of the site. It is described as a monastic church and I wonder to which order it belonged.

I'm sorry to be flippant, but I thought this was a disease caused by listening to too much John Cage music. Chas zzz brown 10:18 Dec 11, 2002 (UTC) I am delighted to have a response, no matter how flippant! Personally I thought it sounded as if someone had an allergy to telephones but I understand it means it is the church of Christ of the Echoes whatever that means.User:Jeandunston

Please remember that we are talking about the Eastern Orthodox Church not Roman Catholicism. I've never heard any mentioning of "Orders" like e.g. the Benedictines, Franciscans and the like in the Orthodox Church (and I've read a lot about Orthodoxy). Regarding the name; well, Orthodox churches often have names that may seem odd to a Catholic or Protestant (I'm Lutheran myself), but perhaps a Greek is able to elaborate further on this issue? --Valentinian 22:46, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Icons and Iconostasis[edit]

Does anyone have picture of the iconostatis before 1975? And the icons? Something could be usefully added here.--Shirazibustan (talk) 08:27, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
