So... I'm supposed to expand this talk page, by... talking? What's the point of this template? AиDя01DTALKEMAIL 02:46, Jun 3, 2005 (UTC)

The point of this template is to attract more Wikipedia users to vote on the deletion or the keeping of the article. That way we have more opinions on the article. Doesn't it make sense? 2004-12-29T22:45Z 02:55, Jun 3, 2005 (UTC)

No, it doesn't make sense, especially since you didn't place an entry here. (Any such entry would probably be ignored or deleted anyway, since that list is for articles.) I've neutered the template. If you want to get more attention for this VfD, you should go to village pump. AиDя01DTALKEMAIL 03:03, Jun 3, 2005 (UTC)

Mikkalai[edit]

I have serious concern about the way Mikkalai is pretending to manage this VfD. It is one thing to nominate and argue for it's deletion. It's another entirely to go back three times to the article and mark it for speedy delete. Now he is also editing users votes, contrary to the VfD policy, claiming the opposite: "Do not strike out, remove or modify other people's votes or comments, even if you believe them to be in bad faith, unless they have been banned from editing the relevant pages"

This is my first run in with Mikkalai. Is he always like this on VfD? SchmuckyTheCat 17:51, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

It is a common practice to make typographical changes in VfD pages, for the ease of vote counting. But since you are apparently taking it as an insult, I will not insist on my version. mikka (t) 18:46, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
BTW, what you quoted is a guide, not a policy, so you cannot sue me, only slander. Relax. Usually I am not that bad. And i confessed several times that I like the site. I may even consider contributing there. Some wikipedia pages simply beg for a parody. mikka (t) 18:53, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
WHAT? Striking a users vote is not a typographical change! SchmuckyTheCat 19:09, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
OK. If you say so. cool down. don't shout. Mellow; say "Ommmm" mikka (t) 00:39, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Normal policies for VfD are:
  1. If a vote is from a banned user (Iasson, for example), it may be struck out, or deleted entirely.
  2. If a vote is from an anon and is unsigned, the edit may be signed using the {{unsigned}} template, or some other matter
  3. If a vote is from a new user or suspected sockpuppet, that may be indicated by a comment after the vote.
  4. In general, editing other people's votes (or other comments) is considered very bad behavior, and has been grounds for sanctions such as a temporary ban for vandalism.
