Untitled[edit]

The SDL is almost never known by name "United Fiji Party", in the English, Hindi, or Fijian media.

Since the founding of the party the only place i have ever seen this english name is on a web site that a faction of the party briefly maintained around the 2001 election.

By wikipedia conventions this article should be renamed.

Expected changes[edit]

This page is going to need some work in response to the new regulations. I suggest once things have settled going for a 3-way split of registered / unregistered / historical. --IdiotSavant (talk) 10:28, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What do these parties stand for?[edit]

Wikipedia's articles about politicians and political parties in Fiji only really talk about the incidents and parliamentary machinations those people/parties have been involved with and leave the reader none the wiser about what values these parties stand for or where they may sit on a left-right continuum. Which people/parties are for low taxes and which are for workers rights? Which want a more generous welfare system and which ones want to cut welfare? Who are for gay rights and who oppose them? Which ones want tougher prison penalties and which ones are for progressive reforms? Who are the social justice people/parties and which are the ones that believe people should only look after themselves rather than each other? These policies will give us some idea of the worldview and political persuasions of the people and parties being discussed. This is largely absent from these Wikipedia articles. 121.73.7.84 (talk) 06:17, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
