1940 lynching[edit]

I stand with you on the 1940 lynching, but the previous paragraph about lynchings in general reads as a non sequitur. It may be a fact, but it isn't directly pertinent to the information that follows. I would recommend rewriting to give it some context, or deleting it entirely.
