Longest running nightclub- since when?

the part about how the club was named is confusing. Why was it named slimelight because it was held in a church? surely the more plausible explanation is because it was a parody of the Limelight club. Personally i've always been told that it was as a parody, but if anyone knows for definite, could they please correct the article.

Licencing hours[edit]

Edited this page to correct the times they serve alcohol as the site states: "Yes we have a bar on each floor which serve alcohol untill 2am, then continue to serve soft drinks, tea & coffee untill 7.15am."

I presume the website is out of date - I've heard from numerous places that it's been extended. Unfortunately I can't find the link to the news article I read on the matter, but I did find this [1]. Mdwh 22:48, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

slimes[edit]

i added a note about the club being refered to as slimes. a search shows up many results for this, although there arn't as many results for the other name i've heard quite often, "slime shite" ;) --MilkMiruku 14:07, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the "slimeshite" part of the name until someone can verify it. Those google hits seemed to all be either forums or unrelated, so I don't see any reliable sources. - Zeibura S. Kathau ^{(Info | Talk)} 20:16, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plane nose section[edit]

There was a nose section of a plane down in the "smoking yard" when I visited on Saturday, 10 May 2008. Does anyone have any information as to what type of plane it comes from? Details like that make for a more interesting article (and coincidentally sate my curiosity :-) Daen (talk) 23:47, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is some good background on the venue's website, and on the venue's "other" website -- it's a scrap metal recycling plant in the daytime! About a year ago, as a one-off, you could pay for entry to Slimelight (normally £5 for members, £8 for non-members) with a few kilos of unwanted power cables. Some of the more interesting scrap is kept around for use when the venue's used as a film set. ƕ (talk) 22:14, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources, and Electrowekz[edit]

It is unfortunate that the article was essentially blanked last November, as a number of news sources can now be found on the internet following the death of the club's founder, Mayuan Mak, in December. I don't blame the editor at all, it was done in good faith, and they can't be expected to have a crystal ball. It's just unfortunate.

Rather than restore any of the page as-is, I would suggest that the article be merged with the Electrowerkz article, as has been suggested in the past. It is I think impossible to separate the two, especially looking at the recent sources that have appeared.

I know it is unlikely any editors will see this, but I thought I would make this note on the talk page here before I look at the article history (to preserve the original text for re-writing and referencing) and the proper procedure for merging. H. Carver (talk) 23:47, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
