I've made a request to User:Avsa for some reduced size icons. Noisy | Talk 09:01, Apr 16, 2005 (UTC)

looks very good to me, personly like it the best, espesialywith the lartge icons, but can see not wanting to take up so much space

Increasing the width to reduce vertical space usage[edit]

Is there any chance of increasing the width of this candidate a smidgen in order to minimise the amount of vertical space used by these templates? These templates are typically used at the beginning of articles, and at low resolutions (like 800×600px) take up a lot of space. It's only a minor concern, but it's a good idea to make sure the table of contents is visible without needing to scroll down. Would a "width=90%" be acceptable (currently "width=70%")? — Matt Crypto 17:30, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • I scaled down to 800x600 (why anybody would run at that resolution is beyond me, but I've seen it done), and yes, the templates do, in fact, take up the majority of the sliver of the screen that is not monopolized by the windows and browser bars. I scaled up to 85%... 90% seemed just too broad. What do you think? – ClockworkSoul 05:21, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Thanks, yes, that helps a lot. Sadly, the best my laptop can manage is a pathetic 800×600 — and my desktop's power supply blew up. Ah, woe is me! ;-) — Matt Crypto 17:56, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
      • Ouch! I feel your pain, my brother. – ClockworkSoul 19:01, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
