Integration with main article[edit]

Shouldn't this be integrated into the "Friends" main article? Regards, Redux 16:17, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Nah, it'd be too big--Crestville 17:19, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)
But what kind of entry is "Monica's apartment" ?? I dont think this belongs in Wikipedia. "Friends" however DOES belong in WP and that's were the info over Monica's apartment should go. Jees what's next? "Estelle's funeral" ? If people want to know that much about the series they should go and watch them.
(dont get me wrong on this, I really like Friends but I like a good encyclopedia as well)

Personally, I think this is the kind of thing we should be using subpages for, but apparently that's not standard Wikipedia style, as the proliferation of top-level Pokemon- and Nintendo-specific character/game/level/item/etc articles illustrates. I can sort of understand the purpose of avoiding a hierachical structure, though. It becomes unwieldy very quickly since article relationships are often cyclical.
Anyway, I think we need separate subpages to keep the main article to a reasonable length. I daresay it might be worth further breaking up the article soon. It's gotten quite long. If these pages ("Monica's apartment", "Chandler and Joey's Apartment", "Central Perk", etc) are found at some point to cause confusion somehow, they can be moved to e.g. "Monica's apartment (Friends)", but I think for now they're best kept where they are.
On an unrelated note, please sign your comments in the future. It makes the flow of conversation much clearer.

How about merging this article, Chandler and Joey's apartment, and Central Perk into a single article, perhaps with the name "Main locations on Friends"? -- Captain Proton 20:52, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, also a picture wouldn't go amiss.16:38, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

I also agree. Then we could write about Ross' place, Carol & Susans, Joey's own short-lived apartment without having to create article stubs. -- Vladimir Lenin 20:21, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How about adding the fact that this apartment is supposed to be (both fictionally and actually) in the West Village?
