Village pump question[edit]

I just submitted an article on the American poet Rod McKuen, yet Wiki posted it as "Rod mckuen," (lower-case "M") even though this isn't how the name appears anywhere in the text. Can I simply change the name?

Articles aren't named by how a name appears in the text. Always check how the name appears at the top of the page before saving. Someone else also replied on the Village Pump page. Happy editing. Mgm|^(talk) 08:06, Apr 1, 2005 (UTC)

If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

File permission problem with File:Uafortsmithbaldor.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Uafortsmithbaldor.jpg, which you've attributed to UA Fort Smith. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license.
