time travel[edit]

you wrote:Whoops, sorry Finlay - your comment mysteriously got overwritten by my own...

nah, it merely moved forward in time. I'm still trying to figure out how to send comments back in time (so I can win arguments before they begin). -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 01:42, 16 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I just wanted to thank you for your support in my recent nomination to become an administrator. I really appreciate it. blankfaze | •• | •• 14:41, 6 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Alex Zanotelli[edit]

Hi. How is Alex Zanotelli a candidate for speedy deletion under point #7? - Tεxτurε 16:33, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Nevermind. Didn't notice the mix of languages. - Tεxτurε 17:04, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)

The mix of languages: yes. Probably due to the fact that I didn't even have the time to finish the translation. You deleted it before it was completed. Real speedy! Shezarainbow

Mr Vandal[edit]

Greetings. Thanks for the heads up about the vandalism. I went ahead and banned the user after a warning. If you see any similar edits from different accounts (like the user created another account) you can hail me if I'm here or you can post to Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress and another admin should get right on it. "Curps" impostor on Memory Alpha[edit]

The vandal user "Curps" on Memory Alpha is not me. Please go ahead and ban that user, and please edit the user page and talk page there to reflect the fact that this is an impostor. Cid Highwind left me a message on my talk page here about this. -- Curps 15:54, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)

File:Plunger 250x410.jpg

Thanks for taking the time to vote in my RfA, which passed with a final vote of 54/2/1 despite my obvious inadequacy for the job. I'll do my level best to use the mop and bucket — or, as I said in my RfA, plunger — responsibly. Of course, in the best tradition of politicans everywhere, I've already broken a campaign promise and blocked a vandal (after I said "I don't anticipate using the blocking tool very often"). Nevertheless, I'll try not to let the unbridled power corrupt me. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 14:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A landslide victory for The JPS (aka RFA thanks)[edit]

Hey, DarkHorizon, thank you so much for your vote and comments in my RfA, which passed with an overwhelming consensus of 95/2/2. I was very surprised and flattered that the community has entrusted me with these lovely new toys. I ripped open the box and started playing with them as soon as I got them, and I've already had the pleasure of deleting random nonsense/attacks/copyvios tonight.
If I ever do anything wrong, or can help in some way, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, and I will do my best to correct my mistake, or whatever...
Now, to that bottle of wine waiting for me...

My RfA[edit]

Dear DarkHorizon — Thank you for your support on my recent RfA. It succeeded with a final tally of 72/2/0 and I am now an administrator. I'll be taking things slowly at first and getting used to the new tools, but please let me know if there's any adminnery I can help you with in the future. —Whouk (talk) 04:00, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DarkHorizon. I was just wondering if you perhaps knew the source where you got the above image from. I'd be grateful if you could then enter that onto the image summary page. Cheers! Wikiwoohoo 15:25, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Oldbbc2.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Oldbbc2.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. —Wikiwoohoo 20:48, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Skymix.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Skymix.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [1] - My apologies, I was slightly hasty and saw a sweeping revert of several changes including the addition of Wikilinks, rather than actually noting that the Wikilinks were, indeed, duplicates. See my edits summary for more. Martinp23 19:58, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Boccia[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Boccia, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
