The William Stamps Farish Faculty Research Professorships of Entrepreneurial Studies were established with support from the William Stamps Farish Fund.[2]

NPOV and cleanup[edit]

This article seems to take Farish's side in his disputes with the US government. Additionally, much of the language used seems unprofessional. I'm tagging this article for cleanup and NPOV. Gentgeen 19:08, 31 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Farben and slave labour[edit]

It is not speculation Farben was involved in slave labour at Auschwitz.

I put an "Unreferenced" notice here because such serious claims require precise references not a disconnected list at the bottom. Also, I will put in a POV notice as this is an Encyclopedia. Handicapper 17:15, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found a good reference source for the relationship between Standard Oil and I. G. Farben, as well as to Mr. Farish's involvement in Standard's trading with Nazi Germany during the 1930s and during World War 2. (Trading With the Enemy, Charles Higham, 1983) I added the cite to Higham's book to the article and I think there are enough inline cites to justify removing the "Unreferenced" notice. (Not that more references and more editing won't improve the article.) However, I think a reference is needed for the statement that Auschwitz was a joint venture between I. G. Farben and Standard Oil. There is no doubt that I. G. Farben used slave labor at Auschwitz and there are reputable sources for its involvement in setting up the camp. However, it isn't the same to leap from Standard Oil and I. G. Farben's patent, synthetic rubber, chemical and petroleum dealings to the premise that Auschwitz was, itself, a joint Standard - I. G. Genealogy[edit]

Be careful to note (as mentioned in the article) that since the first William Stamps Farish is not usually counted in the sequence, the third-born W. S. Farish is named "Jr.," while the fourth-born (the one living), is "III." That is, Will Farish, is William Stamps Farish, III (even though he was the fourth born with the name).

Contradiction[edit]

This article refers to William Stamps Farish III as son of William Stamps Farish II, but that article states he is the grandson, with a William Stamps Farish, Jr. in between. Very confusing... Sverre 19:46, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed "treasonous" section[edit]

I removed the entire section because it was not referenced asnd appears to be reciting in part from sources that are't reliable. Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Whatever Farish and Standard Oil's role in WWII actually was should be documented but in an NPOV manner and properly referenced. I also am removing numerous external links to dead sites or unwarranted ones connected to sites that are nothing more than rantings against George Bush. Handicapper 15:03, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
