Is this writeup necessary?[edit]

Does "Characters" really need to be separated from Cardcaptor Sakura into its own page? I know the characters list is long, but I don't think it particularly warrants separating out. Would you mind if I moved it back to how it was? --Jonathan Drain 01:58, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I don't see why it's necessary, but I know there are links pointing to it. --Darksasami 05:50, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
This is true, but only two - one of those is the link from the original article and the other you added yourself. The latter originally linked to Cardcaptor Sakura entry anyway. --Jonathan Drain 16:32, 11 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Adding the characters back one to the main page makes it rather long and tedious (at least in terms of appearence. Both the X/1999 and Chobits pages did the same thing though.Anon

Less is more[edit]

I do think that these character write-ups need to be more brief. Wikipedia is not meant to document every last detail about its articles. Having too much minor detail is quickly becoming a problem (really, already is a problem) with most anime articles such as these. We are not trying to re-tell the story here. When you add information, ask yourself, who will be referencing these articles and why? As it is now, most of this information is only useful to people who've already seen the anime and thus already know the information. For someone who hasn't seen the anime, the information is too detailed to hold any relevance (like hearing an inside joke when you're not on the inside). Having this much information hurts the article more than it helps. --Ned Scott 03:44, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since I'm on a personal project to expand the main character articles, I do plan to deprecate this article in the future to just a "List of Characters in Cardcaptor Sakura." That way this article can be most brief, and anyone wanting detail can reference the individual character pages. And I will try to stay on a general level as far as presentation of information, but that doesn't mean detailed sections shouldn't be made available if such clarification is necessary.. (I suppose it's mostly a subjective matter, which makes it difficult.) --Crisu 08:02, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just don't start flaming CC, you need to do your homework before starting making comments related to CC. I am from the UK and have watched both english dub layouts (i won't point fingers at companies here since this is Wikipedia) -Dynamo_ace Talk

Deprecation complete[edit]

I've created and written new articles for all the listed characters here who didn't have an article previously. All relevant information in this article has been adapted/merged into the new articles. All that is left here (as of Part 6) is a list of characters, which is then short enough to move back to the main CCS page. This article is now a redirect to the characters section in the main page. --Crisu 02:16, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
