Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.

Mistake[edit]

Someone forgot to mention that Transylvania County borders Buncome County at the Southeastern corner.

Name origin[edit]

Legal documentation from 2010 and the county government itself seems to indicate the county was named by one Joseph P. Jordan in 1861. However, in neither case do they link Mr. Jordan's name choice with the Colony or Company. We need to see a historical reference linking Jordan's decision with the Colony/Company or revise the claim of its origin. Lostraven (talk) 21:42, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I removed those references until someone can provide the Colony connection documentation. Owenalat (talk) 20:08, 31 October 2019 (UTC)Owenalat[reply]

Why Transylvania?[edit]

Whoever called it that, why did they pick that name??2A00:23C7:E284:CF00:B961:2549:F4EA:1A5 (talk) 21:26, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
