I would ask for evidence that she was the first woman created a Baroness, but it'd be rather pointless, as there is counter-evidence galore: Mary Anne Abercromby, created Baroness Abercromby in 1801; Mary Hill, Marchioness of Downshire, created Baroness Sandys in 1802; Charlotte Mary Gertrude Strutt, created Baroness Rayleigh in 1821; Sophia Elizabeth Wykam, created Baroness Wenman in 1834; Mary Elizabeth Campbell, created Baroness Stratheden in 1836; and I could go on for hours... Goats[edit]

The present text states that "She was also the president of the British Goat Society". As no reference is given for this claim I suspected it might be vandalism, but a quick search confirms that the Baroness was connected with the British Goat Society. The aim of the Society was not so much to improve the welfare of goats as the philanthropic one of promoting the keeping of goats by the rural poor as a healthy source of milk, and improving the breed of goats for this purpose. However, the source I found on the subject mentioned the Baroness as the Patron of the Society, not its President. If someone has a correct and authoritative source a reference might be inserted. Otherwise readers may wonder, as I did, if the entry is a leg-pull.2A00:23C8:7907:4B01:D16F:2354:66FC:3CFD (talk) 15:19, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
