Prince Walleed Bin Talal[edit]

On a BBC program (YouTube) about Bin Talal, at minute [1:48] the narrator Kate Humble says:

And this is the man. And he owns large chunks of all those companies

As she is saying this, the camera focuses on an image with at least the following company names and logos:

  • Time
  • Kodak
  • Paypal
  • eBay
  • Kadco
  • CNN
  • Al Arabi
  • Swissotel
  • Fairmont
  • Fox Entertainment
  • ESPN
  • Ballast Nidam
  • The Sun
  • The Sunday Times
  • HP
  • Saks

So they are not Saudi companies, but definitely companies with Saudi ownership. According to a written article in the BBC, his funding began from the Royal company, and he owns a 590 million dollar stake in Citigroup, as well as holdings in an array of high-end and household names ranging from hotels, restaurants, real-estate portfolios, petrochemical, agriculture and healthcare companies and major stakes in the worlds of publishing, entertainment and social media. In an caption to an image in the same article from July 2, 2015, it is written that he co-owns the London Savoy hotel, re-opening it with Prince Charles in 2005. פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 05:55, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's not clear what you're proposing here. Two of those firms have Kuru ownership as well; there's nothing notable about that. The Citibank position, while a lot of money, is .3% of the cap. The criteria for these lists has been "headquartered in XXX"; it would be impossible to list out every minority share of every publicly traded company. Kuru (talk) 11:57, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
