Both the imdb page and this page's category put it as a 1947 film, but I have a DVD here with the year stated as 1941, anyone got the definitive word on this? Boffy b 23:14, 2004 Dec 27 (UTC)
I just looked on the copyright notice within the film itself, and it's a transfer from such a poor print that I can't make out anything other than the last number is I, and the second-to-last may be a V or an X, or not. It's actually funny, the colour has held so poorly that the "green mask" throughout looks grey-blue. Anyway, I'v removed the 1941 references until I find something definitively against 1947. This is definitely 1947, as the pressbook, copyright submission, film copyright and premiere reviews refer to it. The "blue-gray" color mask is a limitation of the Cinecolor process, and does not reflect any sort of color fading.Thephotoplayer 17:58, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I own the Alpha DVD. I believe it says 1956 in Roman numerals. I saw the beginning twice in the past three days because I realized I was too tired to keep going 20 minutes in. I should do a screen grab. --Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 13:54, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
