Bob Graham Round[edit]

The Bob Graham Round is a circuit on foot of 42 of the fells in the English Lake District,. It was originally set by the Lakeland athlete Bob Graham as the Lakeland 24-hour record in the 1930s, and not beaten for many years. It covers some 74 miles and 28,500 feet of ascent. See fell running

Inquiry into the Sept. 11 attacks[edit]

Why doesn't this article have anything about the fact that Graham was the leader of the joint congressional inquiry into the Sept. 11 attacks? And the accusations that Graham made about the US government covering up how "a foreign government" (i.e. Saudi-Arabia) was directly involved in funding the attacks? Well, someone has to want to add it, there has to be an at least tacit consensus that it belongs in the article (i.e., other editors don't remove it), and it needs a reliable source. I would say that a link to the article on the Los Angeles Times web site would be needed, rather than using the CommonDreams site. -- Donald Albury 23:54, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graham even wrote a book about this, "Intelligence Matters: The CIA, the FBI, Saudi Arabia and the Failure of America's War on Terror", so there's no question that he made these allegations. The book is certainly out there, published by Random House, and you can use the book as a source, although I would be careful to explicitly attribute anything you use from the book. I am surprised that I cannot find any reviews from reliable sources on-line, and what little commentary I see is in opinion pieces and/or at sites that might be challenged for their reliability. Discussion Desperately Needed[edit]

This article is pivotal to the state of our current national security. For all intents and purposes, the past key club president and one who had a "habit of logging his daily activities on color-coded notebooks" is driving the effort for Weapons of Mass Destruction (Nuclear) Preparedness and Planning. In what capacity is he initiating oversight in such a crucial effort? Where is an education in nuclear physics? Which War College did he gain credentials for recommending logistics during a real time conflict? How many years has he served within the Department of Defense? What specialty has he obtained as to national defense?

The most naive and almost inane would highlight "high school" accomplishments at the onset of potential world instability. It is unbelievable. And where is the respect for Bush? He acted and protected us for 8 years from what these guys are going to discuss and ponder about with no credentials to do so. As they are coming to their own proper assessment that we are in danger, will they gain awareness as to how the previous sitting president was treated or caricatured? The general point I'm trying to demonstrate here is that sensitivity to our current worldwide inter-relationships, influenced by religion, theology, and potential derangement (Ahmadinejad), deserves critical respect and attention. We're not living in some bubble so to day dream as to every leader's precious childhood or upbringing. We're in real time, current real time. Hundreds of thousands of people can die instantaneously while the likes of this author and the career politician that he highlights idolize over some idyllic, irrelevant biographical nonsense. I think they are as dangerous as the ones that desire to abuse their nuclear capability.

"Governor Death"[edit]

I am surprised that this article contains no discussion of the allegations that Graham used the death penalty for political capital during his gubernatorial reelection (and senate election) campaigns, or indeed discussion of the former Senator's opinions (historical and current) on the issue that earned him infamy (justly or otherwise) in some circles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.192.3.207 (talk) 03:59, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graham's Crackers[edit]

The term cracker in Florida has a different meaning in many circles than it does in the rest of the United States. Bob Graham's support from florida natives who call themselves "crackers" mirrored support for Lawton Chiles who like Graham was a Florida native. Grahams now live in Gainesville, Florida[edit]

Bob and Adele Graham moved from Coral Gables, Florida, to a retirement community in Gainesville, Florida in/about July, 2019. We dined with them on the following Labor Day.

Somewhere, I have a photo of the "Welcome" board with their names on it.

I cannot find a story to support this, but the fact is, they are my neighbors one floor up and a few doors to the north. A few minutes ago, we "howdied" (7/26/2020).

Their daughter lives near by, and we are close to the Graham Center at the University of Florida. Perhaps the center will confirm this for you.
