From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am Phoenix and I live in Arizona. Joke.

Personal matters[edit]

Technically speaking, I'm a citizen of the world, and I have no permanent address. I have not yet traveled far, but I have reached Italy, Austria, Germany, England, even the Philippines.

The last place I've stayed (long-term) in was Salzburg, in 2004. Now, I'm globe-trotting once more, and will continue to do so until I wear myself out.

About Wikipedia[edit]

Wikipedia is something like my home base. It is a stable, yet unstable thing that I know will always be there no matter where I am (thanks to the ubiquity of the Internet). I learned of it in 2003, when I looked up one of my mother's prescription drugs in the Internet. Wikipedia offered the most understandable information, yet incomplete. I eventually decided to keep searching and forgot Wikipedia for sometime, until I looked up another term, got lost, and found that Wikipedia was editable by virtually anybody who cared to contribute.

How I came to join Wikipedia[edit]

So I signed up. This was just before Pope John Paul II died. I was in Piazza Barberini in Rome, and I was hurrying so I could catch the 9:00 Rosary mass.

I was dumbfounded when the messenger of bad news came out and announced his death. But eventually I overcame my grief, said a farewell to the Pope, and picked myself back up. Back to my travels.

My Username[edit]

That's why I chose Phoenix as my username: because the phoenix is a resilient creature - it dies and is reborn from its ashes. And so am I. I am a new person.

Always glad to help - and be helped - out wherever I can.

Misc.[edit]

About me[edit]

I'm a "computer specialist", though beginning. I just took a one-month course in HTML and Flash the other year. Followed it up with self-study courses.

I studied beginning Spanish and Italian in high school, but skipped French. I took up German when I stayed in Salzburg, and of course, I know English. I learned Filipino a long time ago, back in the Philippines. It's easy.

I'm an art lover, but I appreciate sculpture more than paintings. I also have a good eye for beautiful, old-style gardens (the kind one would find in old English castles and mansions). And I just love beautiful landscapes.

I think I'll become a priest someday, but I'm still thinking about it.

I have a passion for (Ancient) Roman, Egyptian, and Greek history. I taught myself to read hieroglyphs a few years ago and can still read it. I want to pursue it but I have yet to find a good grammar book and dictionary.

Who am I?[edit]

{{inuse}} N.B.: Don't read on until I'm finished.

I'm a German shepherd on Mondays, an oak tree on Tuesdays, a dove on Wednesdays, a doctor on Thursdays, a free man on Fridays, a German shepherd again on Saturdays, and a phoenix on Sundays.

Who am I?

This question has puzzled mankind since its birth. The identity of the person is perhaps one of the most difficult questions we have posed ourselves in the whole of human history. Who are we, really?
