yes, I know this looks like a dictionary entry. Still, the topic of prize money in the Royal Navy (AKA Nelson's Navy) has more than enough meat to fill out an article.

  • When was prize money instituted?
  • What were the portions.
  • When (if ever) did the portions change?
  • When did the practice of prize money come to an end?
  • Under what conditions was prize money awarded?
  • largest awards of prize money
  • cases in which prize money could have been awarded but was not.
  • what other contries besides England used prize money to reward and motivate their navies?

If 2/8 goes to the capitains and 1/8 to the crew, what hapens to the other 5/8 of the prize money? Shouldn't then not be 2/3 and 1/3?

The above is now two and a half years old, yet the article still does not contain even such a basic fact as when prize money was abandoned. Someone who knows, please help! Loganberry (Talk) 11:39, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Navy Prize Money[edit]

This article is almost exclusively about Navy Prize Money, unless more gets put into the Prize Money section, the lead should be removed and the name should be changed.Ryan Vesey (talk) 18:05, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you should say "Prize Money (Navy)" as an alternative not "Navy Prize Money" as I don't think you will be able to find a reference anywhere which refers to it by that latter term. Dabbler (talk) 19:42, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Link to German page[edit]

Can someone link this page to "Prisengeld" in the German Wikipedia? I don't know how/if I can to do that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaeslingr (talkcontribs) 14:35, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The "Prisengeld" page redirects to De:Prisenrecht, which is linked to Prize (law) which complements this article. Wikidata only allows one link for each article/language. Click on "Edit links" below the expanded Languages section for any article, but you may need to be a confirmed user on English Wikipedia.MinorProphet (talk) 14:37, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
