I copied the lyrics in Armenian script from a gif file. I hope it was copied correctly. If anyone finds any mistakes feel free to correct them and drop a line ghere when you believe everything's correct.

Nalbandian is the actual author of the anthem.

Is Nalbandian author of the current anthem's lyrics? BTW is the transliteration following the Eastern Armenian pronounciation rules?--193.2.136.41 05:42, 1 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I fixed some of the typos, and to answer your question, yes the transliteration is in Eastern Armenian. I'm not sure whether it's worth making a Western transliteration (all you do is swap k&g, p&b and d&t). I'd rather have just a Western one instead, but I don't know what's more appropriate for Wikipedia. --Aramgutang 16:04, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Dialects[edit]

In which dialect is this anthem sung in? Can both Eastern and Western Armenians understand the exact anthem? If so, how is this? Chaldean (talk) 01:47, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The anthem can be, and is, understood and sung by Armenians in both Western and Eastern dialects. However, as the anthem is the anthem of the Republic of Armenia, where only the Eastern dialect is spoken, and since it's only really practical to put the transliteration in one dialect, it's probably best to leave the transliteration in Eastern dialect, the dialect of the country of which the song is the anthem. Speakers of Western Armenian can refer to the Armenian text, and certainly know the correspondences in their own dialect. It's fine as it is. Xenophonix (talk) 14:54, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
