Are you, by any chance, part of User:Apt Repsonse's project? --Dante Alighieri | Talk 20:08, Apr 2, 2004 (UTC)

In as much as life is a project, we are all part of the same project. Apt Repsonse seems to describe a project that embraces hundreds of millions if not billions of living residents of today's world. In such a discourse embracing large scale population groups, appreciation of memes is a more manageable rhetorical approach than is an attempt to associate broad-based ideas with individual commentators. World-liberation 20:22, 2 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Let's try this again. Are you either the same individual posting as Apt Repsonse or else a member of the specific project/organization/plan that AR is discussing? --Dante Alighieri | Talk 20:26, Apr 2, 2004 (UTC)
I beleive you mean to say that you alone are attempting to repeat a question that has already been asked and answered. If you will explore wikipedians policies on etiquette, you will find your right to ask such questions recognized, but that you have no recognized right to demand an answer with any substantive threat. I am specifically a member of the human race who beleives resistance to oppression is a worthwhile goal, hence my interest in this thread of discussion and the user name assigned to this dialouge. By repeating the question, are you attempting to imply some sort of threat? World-liberation 20:36, 2 Apr 2004 (UTC)
I "believe" that you are attempting something that I have seen many times before, but I'll take you at face value for the time being. I am attempting to reword a question that has been asked and not (substantively) answered. For example, if you ask me what time it is and I respond "fish", that IS an answer, but not really terribly apt. I am well aware of Wikipedia policy on question asking of the nature to which you refer. I am puzzled by your reference to threats... are you implying that I'm threatening you? By repeating my question, I'm implying that you are being either intentionally evasive or else misunderstanding my question. If you would care to clarify which of the two may be applicable, that may solve some problems. Also, aside from the fact that there is no threat in my statements (implicit or explicit) I admit to being baffled as to the nature of the threat that you were concerned I might be implying. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 20:41, Apr 2, 2004 (UTC)
Presenting two alternatives, neither of which includes the actual circumstance in question, is referred to as a false delima. The threat I perceived or suspected is, or was, a social threat, in which I suspect you would either attempt to demean me socially or imply a right to take administrative (or even legal) action against me depending on my affiliations. The manner of questioning is consistent with that of many interogators, such as those of the House Committee on Un-American Activities, which attempted to slander public figures by asking if they are members of an unpopular political group. World-liberation 22:14, 2 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Fine, we'll play it your way. First of all, it's not a "false dilemma" unless there's a third option. Since I was discussing my own beliefs, there were only two options. You may be asserting that neither of my two options is in fact relevant to your situation, but I was not discussing reality, I was discussing my impression of reality. Surely an erudite individual as yourself can tell the difference.
Now I will present a list of logical fallacies that you display in your comments: slippery slope, appeal to pity, consequences, prejudicial language, ad hominem attacks, false analogy, and the good ol' classic straw man.
Note that this concludes my portion of this "discussion". If you have any further issues with me, I suggest you take it up via the appropriate channels. Please also note that I am preemptively refusing Mediation. Have a good day. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 23:28, Apr 2, 2004 (UTC)
