Feel free to make the changes you want on Landsmannschaft Ostpreussen. It's unnecessary to insert a "disputed article" notice. When I rewrote the anonymous user's edit, it was because he/she totally removed the word "expelled". But you are probably right that it should be stated that some also was evacuated or emigrated. OK, I will do the job.

I was about to do it, but you were faster. :) ~ Nico

User:Maximus Rex Why I don't like that guy?

Hi Wolfgang, I don't think it's a good idea to copy this dispute to people's talk pages. Perhaps a better way would just be to provide a link to the Wikipedia:Current disputes over articles page and ask people to comment there? Angela. 20:07, 15 Dec 2003 (UTC)

OK!

Regarding "Voila: Adam Mez, The Renaissance of Islam : classical book about Middle Ages" will I find many mentions of Jews in the slave trade or can you provide a page number? OneVoice 10:21, 29 Jan 2004 (UTC)

There is a chapter, that describes the slave routes. There were 2 routes: Eastern through Khazar empire and western through Frank Empire. The reason why Jewish traders acted as middle man between Christians and muslims, was that Christians were not allowed to trade (Christian) slaves. Prague used to be the biggest center of slave trade. It was the main reason , why Adalbert from Prague escaped from his bishopry. If you want to know more, I would advise you to read the life stories of beatified by the Church. One of them was beatified, because she spent all her property on purchasing back Christian slaves from Jewish traders. I cannot recall her name. For Middle Age historians it is common knowledge, you shouldn't have any problem with confirming it. By the way, blond Slavic beauties were very expensive for Muslims.
