Dispute[edit]

Instantnood added a template about this being disputed. Can you state a simple problem statement that encapsulates the dispute? SchmuckyTheCat 21:40, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)

These are world heritage sites within mainland China. — Instantnood 06:21, Mar 29, 2005 (UTC)
I like, SchmuckyTheCat, fail to see what the problem is. The title is "World Heritage Sites in China", and makes no mention of political boundaries. I don't think that there are any World Heritage Sites in Taiwan (probably because the Republic of China is not a UN member state), so we are spared that debate. I believe the only possibly controversial item is Potala Palace. With that exception, I don't think that anybody would dispute that all of these sites are within any definition of "China", regardless of who governs the territory. Please specifically discuss what your problem is.
Anyways, since World Heritage Sites are defined by UNESCO, I'm not sure why there is anything to debate. This category merely documents a list compiled by another organization: [3] Jkiang 03:34, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
It is very nice that SchmuckyTheCat has added a notice and made the situation much clearer. However, I see no reason why it cannot be categorised under category:Mainland China, in addition to category:China ([4]). — Instantnood 10:47, Mar 30, 2005 (UTC)
