Inappropriate and non-sourced statement.[edit]

The following was at the end of the "Critical and commercial reception" section:

"The film also received much criticism as it is effectively the same as the original football version, yet was adapted for American audiences as they are not interested in sports that are not the mainstream, "made-for-TV-sports" they are used to."

Aside from being over-generalizing, heavily opinionated, and grammatically clumsy, it provided a citation that led to a webpage (http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=feverpitch.htm) where no statement even remotely like this can be found. Ben's season ticket[edit]

Rewritten plot[edit]

Article states:

The original plot had assumed the Red Sox would lose in the playoffs. However, the Sox stunned the baseball world when they won four straight games to win the 2004 ALCS against the rival Yankees (becoming the first MLB team to win a seven-game series after losing the first three games) and subsequent World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals to break the "Curse of the Bambino." Thus, the ending had to be rewritten.

Was the original plot really about Red Sox losing? Since the original UK film had - as a major plot point - the underdog team unexpectedly win the entire series, it does feel like something the writers and producers would have considered from the start. 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 22:19, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
