Belinda Stronach, Conservative Party[edit]

Michaelm, please see other articles for federal electoral districts such as Toronto-Danforth, Nanaimo-Alberni, or Central Nova. In all cases the standard has been set that in each electoral district the name of the current MP, along with former MPs, will be listed along with the name of the party they represent. To omit factual information of that nature would be to go against the purpose of Wikipedia. Therefore Belinda Stronach must be identified as a member of the Conservative Party of Canada.

In the future before making edits of this nature please consult other similar articles so that you can see what conventions and standards have been established. This will ensure that your fellow Wikipedians do not have to expend time and energy correcting any mistakes that could have been avoided. Thank you, Kurieeto 01:15, Feb 11, 2005 (UTC)

I have reverted the last change by Blueboy96 because I think the previous version is clearer: his version contians less information, specifically:

My version: B Stronach Conservative (2004-05), Liberal (2005-)
His version: B Stronach Conservative/Liberal (2004-05)

What advantage does his version have over mine? Ground Zero 17:28, 17 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Floor crossing controversy[edit]

This controversy may have more of a place in the article about Belinda Stronach herself. But I think perhaps a bit about the reaction of people in the riding when they learned that their MP had changed parties may be worth discussing in this article as well.
