Calvert family[edit]

Reason why I recommended this for VfD: The subject this article covers covered better...especially at George Calvert, 1st Baron Baltimore, Cæcilius Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore, articles their descendants, Baron Baltimore, Province of Maryland and elsewhere. No one would ever look here for this subject matter. This page is not necessary. —ExplorerCDT 23:58, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Comment: The original text, which I recommended for VfD was : The Calvert Family hoped to create a New Colony, Maryland, which would become a Catholic refuge. Granted a charter by the King of England, they began their quest. Moments after I recommended it, the anonymous creator of the article changed to the text to what it currently is. Now, IMHO, it is worthy of a speedy deletion. —ExplorerCDT 16:21, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • Speedy deletion. Reason #4: little or no information. Mikkalai 02:45, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Speedy delete: I agree with Mikkalai, but it's worth waiting 24 hr to see if there are any valid "keep" votes or expansions. Geogre 14:21, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Speedy delete. No content and nobody is likely to search for "Calvert family". [[User:David Johnson|David Johnson [T|C]]] 22:56, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • I don't see why anyone would look up George Calvert, 1st Baron Baltimore, but this article is not informative, maybe a redirect? Otherwise delete. [[User:MacGyverMagic|Mgm|(talk)]] 09:07, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC)
  • A good reason for this article would be to cover Leonard Calvert younger son of George, brother of Caecilius and first Governor of Maryland. However, I have included him in the Baron Baltimore article so this can be Redirected to Baron Baltimore.Capitalistroadster 10:21, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Redirect per Capitalistroadster and MacGyverMagic. Samaritan 03:17, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
